A journey up Mauna Kea to photograph the milky way and the night sky along with a silhouette of an old tree was my goal. What I wasn't expecting was a super windy night and a little bit of the unexpected. Every time I would hit the shutter I had to guard my camera from the wind using my body and jacket over a 30 second exposure. Half the time I was successful with capturing a crisp shot, however I didn't take many pictures. For every 30 second exposure I had to wait another 30 seconds for buffering with more time to review the image and re-set up to get a composition I liked. A minute and a half to two minutes doesn't sound like a lot of time, but when it is cold it feels like forever.

Thank you so much for taking time to visit my photography collection. Most of my work is of the amazing landscape and surrounding nature of the Big Island of Hawaii. Occasionally I will have the opportunity to venture and explore the neighboring islands or the mainland when I visit friends and family to diversify my collection of work. Art has always been a huge part of my life. Anything creative I will dive in and get lost especially if it is a collaboration piece, but photography is my main creative outlet.
