A soft and stormy sunset off of the coast of Keauhou on the Big Island of Hawaii. There is a large depression in the shoreline where the large waves would come surging into, billow up, and splash out over the sides. When I discovered this location I wanted to capture the water at the height of this surge in order to capture the beautiful sea foam blues against the darker rocks.
There was one small rock formation that I stood on to get close enough to compose the scene. It wasn't completely out of harms way because soon after this shot I was splashed by a rogue wave. The hike back was a lot of 'squish - squish' sounds with my shoes being completely full of water.
